We are pleased to announce that David Hirt has been named a Director of the firm. David, who will be chairing the firm’s litigation practice, has been representing school boards for over 17 years in many areas of education law. He has extensive experience handling litigation in state and federal courts, administrative proceedings such as special education due process complaints and unfair labor practice charges before SERB, and labor arbitrations. He is also a veteran presenter, providing in-service training to school districts on topics including special education, tuition and enrollment issues, student discipline, and freedom of speech. David has served on the Portage County Bar Association’s Certified Grievance Committee, including as its Chairperson, and he is a former member of the City of Kent, Ohio, Board of Zoning Appeals. David received his juris doctor from the Maurer School of Law at Indiana University in Bloomington after spending a year as a visiting student at Case Western Reserve University School of Law in Cleveland.
