STUDENT LEGAL ISSUES
Our attorneys have experience advising school administrators on a daily basis with respect to the following issues:
Student records;
Tuition and residency problems;
Custody and guardianship issues;
Child abuse reporting requirements;
Sexual harassment, including peer-to-peer harassment;
Home schooling;
Parochial school/church and state concerns;
Title IX issues;
Drug searches and testing of students;
Student attendance issues;
Student suspension and/or expulsion procedures; and
First Amendment issues such as freedom of speech, censorship and editing of student newspapers, and the distribution of religious and/or political materials by students.
