Scott C. Peters served as the Firm’s Managing Director since its inception in January, 2001, through December, 2007. Mr. Peters received his undergraduate degree from Kenyon College (A.B., 1989) and law degree from Case Western Reserve University (J.D., 1992), where he served as Executive Editor of the Journal of International Law. Mr. Peters currently advises boards of education on a wide variety of legal matters, including the Americans with Disabilities Act, the IDEIA, Section 504, the Family & Medical Leave Act, the Fair Labor Standards Act, the No Child Left Behind Act, and the Ohio Public Employment Risk Reduction Act, in addition to labor relations, employee discipline/termination, school finance, student discipline, and student residency issues. Mr. Peters has practiced law before the Ohio Supreme Court and numerous Appellate Courts throughout the state. Mr. Peters is a member of the Cleveland, Ohio State and American Bar Associations, the Education Law Association, the National School Boards Association Council of School Board Attorneys, and the Ohio Council of School Board Attorneys and the Executive Committee of the Ohio Council of School Board Attorneys and the Defense Research Institute. Mr. Peters is a frequent speaker at the Ashland Leadership Academy Seminars, OSBA seminars, and other professional organizations throughout the State.
