For the second year in a row, the Ohio Schools Council is offering a Legal Seminar Series presented by Smith Peters Kalail Co., L.P.A. The seminars cover relevant school law issues and are offered at no cost to OSC and GCSSA members.
The most recent topic presented on December 14, 2016, was Legal Issues Related to Website Accessibility. This webinar addressed a school district’s requirement to maintain a website that people with disabilities can perceive, access, navigate, contribute to, and interact with. School districts have been the targets of numerous, recent complaints filed regarding website accessibility. The presentation reviewed common website accessibility issues and solutions, how to know if your website is compliant, how to deal with an investigation into your website’s accessibility, and how to design an action plan for making your website accessible. Please contact Sarah Kutscher at firstname.lastname@example.org if you are an OSC/GCSSA member and would like a copy of the recording of the webinar.
