The U.S. Department of Education’s Office for Civil Rights issued a “Dear Colleague” letter regarding the Americans with Disabilities Act Amendments Act of 2008 and its implementing regulations. The letter and accompanying Frequently Asked Questions document provide additional guidance on the requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act in elementary and secondary schools, given the changes to those laws made by the Amendments Act.
